Pottstown Trees Inc., a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation, was created by a group of Pottstown, PA civic leaders in 1983 to raise funds to beautify the borough with new street trees. During a five-year fundraising campaign from 1983 to 1988 sponsored by the Pottstown Mercury, the group raised about $500,000 to plant and maintain street trees.

In December 2016, Trees Inc. merged with Save Our Land, Save Our Towns, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of traditional towns and the preservation of open space. Its activities are now managed through Save Our Land's Pottstown Tree Fund.

In the three decades since it was founded, Pottstown's Tree Fund has planted more than 2,500 new and replacement street trees, trimmed nearly 11,000 trees (each tree several times over the years), removed nearly 1,000 dead trees and/or stumps, and remediated more than 400 sidewalk areas damaged by tree roots. It also planted and maintains a European-style tree park with 35 red maple trees in rows.
